... and to all the stallholders and arena performers
that made the fete such a
great success:
Our sincere thanks go to the following local companies that gave donations or prizes in 2011 ...
The fourth Winnersh Summer Fete brought the Winnersh community together for a fun afternoon on 18th June. Despite the unpromising weather forecast, local people turned out in large numbers to support the many voluntary groups running stalls, presenting displays and performing in the arena.
Over fifty local organisations and groups ran stalls, performed in the arena or donated prizes. The Parish Council also provided plenty of other attractions to keep people amused and entertained (see side panel).
All the money raised by the fete goes to charities and voluntary groups. Voluntary groups running their own stalls keep any proceeds. This year money raised by the Grand Raffle and concessions goes principally to Help for Heroes this with some smaller donations for local charities.
